Last Saturday, after lazing at home the whole day,
we decided to have some dinner..
at a chinese restaurant in Bugis..
The Nanxiang steamed bun restaurant..From where we were sitting,
we can see the bustling road...
filled with heavy traffic and busy pedestrains...
What a view!
After ordering...
I just can't wait for the food...
Especially seeing the delicious food from other people's table,
on the waitress's hands...
I Kant Wait to eat!!!
The appetiser...
steamed chicken in chinese wine...
This is sooo nice!
Crystal Jade has this dish too,
but the wine is just overpowering...
as for this one, its both flavourful and we can taste the wine as well...
its served cold, and thus,
a nice appetiser for our warm dinner later!
When the food arrived,
our whole table is filled!!
The food is nice, and Feng agrees too!
Comsidering he is quite critical when it comes to food...
Yang zhou fried rice...
I liked fried rice in its simplest form..
just egg, prawn and spring onions..
Each grain of rice is coated evenly with the eggs...
I had a phobia when i see fried rice presented nicely in a bowl shape.
I get the feeling that it's pre-fried,
and they simply just store it somewhere,
where they'll just scoop up in a bowl if someone orders it...

But i noe that this is fried after we order it..
coz we specially ask for it without the mixed frozen veg..
The main food that they are famous for is their
"xiao long bao"!!!
Yummy!
The skin is thinner than crystal jade definitely,
n the meat is very flavourful!
we ordered 2 of these,
so each of us ate 6!!
The lonely teapot by the window....
Doesnt the colour of the tea look nice?
It has the colour of peach tea!
Drinking chinese tea at the end of a meal is always so comforting...
Yet another satisfying dinner!
We'll be back soon!
Maybe Feng would like to try out the
big "Xiao long bao" with a straw in it
to suck out the soup within it?
looks weird, but we are quite
confident it'll turn out to be super delicious!

HOME ALONE......AT NIGHT.

As an only child, I've long gotton used to being alone at home..

And I've always loved it.
I enjoy the freedom, the peace, the quietness of the house...
The freedom to do whatever I want to..

I always tell Feng,
throw me in a foreign country, alone, and I'll still survive happily..
I supposed I enjoy the independence...

But recently, I have been challenging this thought again..
Do I really enjoy being alone at home..?
To be precise, at night.

It all started when, some afternoons, I went back home alone as Feng is busy..
I'd switched on the air con on powerful mode while taking a long bathe...
After this, my room would be ultra cold..
I'll pull my fluffy blanket up, and slowly drift into a deep deep sleep,
on the right side of my bed only, by habit....
My room would still be bright at this time.

Often, hours later, I'll wake up feeling cold, in a room of pure darkess and quietness...
thats when I'd feel real ALONE.
I'll feel a little sense of fear, or, loneliness in me.
Lying down, I don't even want to move an inch.
Even the slightest pin drop would set my heart jumping...
When I finally decided to move,
I'll hurry up to find the nearest flicker of my switch.
I want bright white light at this point of time.
No longer the cosy, orange light that I've always prefered.
Next, I'll call Feng to see when he is coming back.
I'll only feel better when I get to hear his voice, under the bright, white lights.

If he was sleeping by my side all along,
I'd imagined myself waking up,
struggling to find my handphone for the time..
I'll probably shake him up to tell him we'd overslept..
and, probably, we would decide where to go for dinner, then get changed and leave the house.
As simple as that.

Coming back to my chavinistic thoughts that I'd love being so alone at home,
these scenarios really set me pondering...
Do i really detest darkness? Detest being home alone at night?
Or have I simply gotton so used to having Feng by my side all this while....?
I'm still pondering....

In the meantime,
I hope Feng doesn't call me a little girl....

I love flower tea!!!
And except from downing it in liquid form...
Feng bought me to this place that allows me to eat a whole meal
filled with flower/tea-inspired dishes!!!
Look at the surroundings!!!
It's filled with bottles after bottles of tea leaves! Thanks baby!
For discovering this nice little cafe!
I dunno why but I'm always craving for sodas nowadays!
And this drink fits me perfectly!!
I tell you, its damn slurpilicious!!!
It's elderberries soda..
Remember that ricola sweet in the purple box?
It doesnt taste a least bit like the sweet...
More like those raspberry flavoured jelly crystals..?
Anyway, the stirrer is from Starbucks, China.
The owner "kope" it when he is there, i supposed..?
The cutleries...
lined up like fine-dining...?
Hmm..which one should I use.....
The cushion is flower-inspired...
Even the servers wear flower-inspired shirts!
(not uniforms)
But the owner is the most "power" one...
A shirt filled with bright red flowers,
accompanied by green vegetables...
Erm..., i meant leaves...
Feng fondly called him "Flower Power"..
Honey mustard grilled chicken with Marigold..
The distinctive fragrant of marigold flowers make this dish
a light and elegant one...
Feng likes it!
I have 1 whole bag of marigold flowers at home..
Its properties include detox and cleansing your body's system...
Apart from drinking the tea, do eat up the petals, and it acts as fibre!
Baby, I'm gonna make marigold tea with rosebuds soon!!!
And this is poached salmon with saffron..
This dish is heavier on its taste...
and I love the creamy consistency!
The salmon is real fresh, tender and juicy...
I'm suspecting they have a fish tank in their kitchen!
Be prepared to wait at least 20mins for each dish above!
This....
I dunno what to say about this...
When Feng fed me,
I EXCLAIMED,
so immediate and in such an impromtu way....
"I can't believe I'm eating such nice food!!!!!"
It's brownie with raspberry vanilla ice cream
topped with fudge sauce and white chocolates with hibiscus flower....
It literally melt in my mouth,
leaving the hot and cold sensation behind..
with the myraid of flavours..
Lets just say i CAN'T stop laughing when I'm eating this...
and Feng kept laughing at my expressions too...
He said, smiling, this must be my "happy food"...
What a great experience i had that night!
Flower/Tea-inspired culinary gave me a very
different experience of something I enjoyed...
Drinking tea makes me feel serene,
but eating these dishes made me feel refreshing, in the sense that I get
to taste the mixture of flavours between the petals and everyday-food...
It's quite pricey though...
Anyway, I've enjoyed it thoroughly!!!
Thanks Feng!!

Feng is craving for coffee again on a Sunday night!
Something extra strong, extra nice..
You know on Sunday nights,
when people start to go for real nice food or a few shots of drinks..?
So as to face the blues the next day?
Since i'm such a smart alec,
i suggested Gloria Jeans' Coffee..
Hehe
The almost tasteless Irish Creme latte..
what a let down...
Even an amateur coffee drinker like myself feels that its not nice...
As for Feng.. Dun have to say much lo...
The creme brulee cheesecake!
That server threw a serviette at the side of the cake..
and the serviette "blot" out the oil from the cake...
how gross can it get?
Even the customer before us complained that there's no
whipped cream on his ice blended drinks...
The server did just that immediately...
and little dollops of it fly over and landed on my pretty cheesecake...
Well, I hate to drink plain water, but Feng got a glass for me,
since I'm damn thirsty...
Guess what?!
The water is greasy!
I confronted the waitress...
she took the glass from me,
and merely shouted to her colleage for another glass.
No sorry, no words exchanged...
What excellent service!
Do keep it up!
Before you disappear in Singapore for good!
As for me, the smart alec,
Ive suceeded in spoiling Feng's Sunday night coffee.....

On the 07 /07/07,
there are soo many weddings taking place ...
But, the most special and loving one of them all...
must be this one!!
Dairen & Jennifer!!!Such a special wedding must never be missed by us!
It is a must to dress up to the occasion!
Feng in a suit, and me in a satin dress,
with a dainty evening clutch from his mum....
Feng and I were stationed at the reception area...
coz we are in charged of the seating arrangements of his sister's guests...
Yes... the star of the day is his dear sister...
The view from where we are seated...
Servers are stationed all around, serving drinks...
and early guests were sitting around at the lounge on the left...
We entertsined ourselves...
talking to Feng's parents and taking pictures...
His mum suggested we pop into the "bridal suite" upstairs to find his sis...
it must be quite "chaotic" upstairs with all the preparations and stuffs!!
It's also abit chaotic right here...
with so many guests arriving together..
and when his mum introduced their extended relatives to me,
I felt my mouth ached from all the smiling..
A picture taken by Feng's dad..
And this one is taken by me...
His pink striped shirt is supposed to complement my pink dress!!!
But i guess it looked white here...
I love my shiny pink satin dress!!!
We were happily cam whoring outside the ballroom until we are
not aware that no one is at the reception area alreadi.....
suddenly....we saw some familiar faces...
its the bride and the bridegroom arriving!!!
The 4 of us were surprised to see each other!!!
( How can we stroll in behind the newly weds??!!)
We hurried into the ballroom, hopefully,
before the prompt of the newly wed's arrival!
Finally!!!
There comes the golden couple!!!
Ooohh... I love the wedding gown!!
A victorian-styled one...
elegant, sexy, with a plunging neckline sewed
with millions of glittery diamond-like stones...
When the spotlights and camera flashes at them when they walk down the aisle,
the stones shine like bright stars of the night!!!
Feng's bro-in-law has a "mafia-like" face!!
But he is a real nice guy!
Come on....
Give me a slice of your wedding cake!!!!!
Please!!
Or.. just a lick of that frosting?!!
The couple walked down the aisle again that night...
with a new night gown...
a reddish pink one...
very long... simple and body-hugging..
The champagne cork went "POP"...
And sparkling champagne rushed down the glassess..
They were laughing at the jokes made by the bestman...
look at their blissful faces!!!
Its a real joy celebrating a wedding with blessings from all
the important people in your life...
Its another stage of life.
A most special stage, in my opinion..
Drinking the nuptial wine!
Its time for families to go up the stage!!!
Feng's parents kept urging me to go up too...
I felt like telling them I've got stage fright...hehe
but decided against it!
Kept focusing my attention on Feng...
Cheers, baby!
The menu of the day!!!
I dun get to see the presentation of the 9 course dinner..
coz we were sitting at the VIP table, and all dishes are served
in our individual plate...
The food that nice is fabulous!!
With sushi in the combination cold dish plate!
(U know, I've always got a thing for Jap food...its a pleasent surprise!)
The fishes are fresh! Sharks fin's thick!
Chicken is tender!
Hmmm.........
I gobbled down every single thing served on my plate!
The 2 lil wedding bears on every table!
Ka-waiiii!!!
The dessert that I gobbled 2 bowls!
And almost a third one!!!
But Feng's parents said its time to stand outside to send some guests off already...
there goes my dessert!!!
Its coconut pudding with almond flakes,
served chilled with mango sauce....
drool....
I was seated between Feng and his mum...
Throughout the dinner, his mum kept cracking jokes...
and I have to tell the jokes to Feng in turn coz he can't hear from his seat...
Its kinda funny...
But Feng is having a bad migrane...
and i have to secretly pass Panadol extras to him under the table...
coz he doesnt want his mum to know....
I'm on the verge to blurt out his "secret" to his mum alreadi!!
But i held back...
for his sake...
Look at his pale face..
Must be due to the hectic day...
Finally...
its time to send the guests off!!
So many hands were shaked...
so many "congratulations" were said...
just like a night in a fairytale's book...
A night worth to be remembered forever....
During the wedding,
photos of their baby days were featured...
then their toddler times...
then their teenage moments,
working stage...
dating stages,
right up to their wedding pictures...
Was rather touched, as we can see that they are very much in love..
throughout their years of courtship...
like a match made in heaven...
Here's wishing them a wonderful new life in future,
united together by their love for each other..
Congratulations to you!!!

We went back to Pan Pacific Hotel again!
It's such a nice place to spend a weekend getaway! We always reserve a paronomic room..
They are the rooms on higher floors...
So ur room view is always so breath taking,
and not blocked by any buildings around!
The ever familiar guests card that activates the lifts
apart from your room..
The big, comfy bed that I laid on the whole of Saturday...
coz im sick!!!
The place where we'll bring a big bottle of
bubble bath and bath salts..
Feng always fill the bath..
as he is ultra particular about rinsing the tub with boiling water first..
to make sure it's damn clean..
The travel size toiletries that are just nice for me to bring around to use!
For swimming or whatsoever!
Isn't this transparent glass weighing scale real nice?
It'll be nicer if it tells mi and Feng that
we did not pile up too much weight!
The working table..
Where we always sit to eat,
and where I'll write little notes for Feng..
so he can find them by surprise!
And this cosy couch by the lamp..
is the next next best thing apart from the bed...
Took a picture of the night sky...
It's always so serene and quiet staring out from the window....
The working table, from another view..
Apart from the usuals in the mini fridge,
we always stock up ours with lotsa food!
Chocolates, drinks, alcohol and the likes...
Took a pic when Feng's taking a nap...
Love the cosy robe!
It reali keeps me warm when the room gets too cold!
Im gona hit the bed....
Im sooo slpy... yawns....
Was woken up when he tried to pull me out of bed...
he has prepare the bath..
Was rather tempted to drown myself in the hot, bubbly water...
but im sooo lethargic!!!
But i'll go since he's so sweet...
Felt better after the soak!
Does he look tired?
Taking care of me since the day before..
Buying me food, medicine, tucking me into bed,
helping me puke by patting my back...
Its a good thing he is there...
When I'm sick, i want no one,
except him to nurse me back to health!
By the afternoon,
I am laughing and joking already..
I can even boil water and make him a cup of coffee!
The next time we come back,
I wana be healthy and well!

Was half limping my way up the room when we check in..
Coz I just wanted to puke so badly!
Instead of him by my side, its a plastic bag next to me... :(

I dun even have the energy to go out for dinner, and guess what,
we ordered Mcdonald's delivery!
And the bell boy took our delivery up, 2 big bags of them!

For supper, Feng went out to buy..
Carls' Junior..
(Great food to eat when you're sick)

I felt sooo terrible... with stomach flu...
Was vomitting and felt so dizzy with a aching head...
But with him by my side, with lotsa TLC,
He makes my sickness so much easier to bear!!!

Its a loving loving stay!!
Despite the virus and all..
Coz my hubby's around to take care of me!
