For every tear that fell from your eyes, two fell from mine...

Lately...., rather, usually,
It's the sad songs that will catch my attention..

Here...
The lyrics of a song by Luther Vandross,
that speaks of his childhood memories of his father,
that left him when he was 8,
due to some complications of his diabetic condition..

Compared to Eric Clapton's Tears in heaven, written in memory of his son,
Here's a song written by a son to his father, in memory of him..
The bond between a father and son,
a bond I'll never get to experience,
or understand implicitly...

Luther Vandross - Dance With My Father

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, loveTo dance with my father again
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He’d make me laugh just to comfort me
Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
‘Cause I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door
And I’d hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don’t do it usually
But dear Lord
she’s dying to dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

I've been rather busy since exams ended!!
Going to spa, classes, work...
so I haven't been blogging!
But mi and Feng did not miss out on yummie foodie though...
We went to Surf n Turf!Actually we were quite sleepy..
Caught a late night movie the night before at Marina Square..
"The Tattooist"
Was munching cheese-dipped nachos throughout the horror flick..
glad we didn't bite our tongues!
Was after 1am when we reached home..
He practically watch me wake up painstakingly the next morning..
in between drifting in and out of sleep and snoring unknowingly..
My 5 mins means 1 hour!
I need good nourishment to make up for my lack of sleep!!!
Feng said that Surf n Turf is a 'seafoody-fishy' kinda place..
Thus, the good'o fish n chips...
The quality of a restaurant lies in the quality of the most basic dish!
2 generous chunks of crispy fillets with a huge portion of fat fries!
The salmon and crab cakes are packed solid with crab meat!!
With a bleu cheese dip!
Looked like some dish from some Thai restaurant that
I suddenly couldn't remember...

I've got a thing for salad nowadays..
Not that I'm a healthy freak!
But I'm into unhealthy salad!
This salad is big enough as a main meal,
with sinful chunks of bleu cheese in it!
The cheese tastes 'Old'..
I can only afford to finish 1 ultra creamy and cheesy chunk,
or else I might risk running to the nearest basin for a good puke after the meal!
Just a main, a side, and 1 salad
will weigh you down so much you hope you didn't order
this much in the first place!
This would be money well-spent if you're a BIG eater,
and food well wasted if you're an average eater!
But some mocca and passionfruit tea float
won't do much harm I supposed?
We might as well add a little more calories to round up our meal that day!
nougat parfait's a rather good choice...!
