Day 2 after the exams!
Vivo City..

We visited Food Republic coz it looks kinda nice from outside
Especially so,
since it looks dark compared to the glaring brightness of the complex at level 3
Walking around the foodcourt, I was abit puzzled by the steep price..
laksa was $6.90, minced meat noodle was $5.00,
2 teh-o-bings costs $3.00...
Feng said the surrounding is nice, like, there's a theme to it..
the wooden tables & chairs, right down to the tiles..
wat a huge contrast with the complex!
The food is so-so only leh..
I'm still puzzled about the price...
Not that i'm "ngiao" la
just felt that the price : quality ratio is not justified lor
By the way, Feng is hooked on nasi-lemak
Do u all happen to know that he eats it for breakfast about 5 times a week?
It seems that he eats it for his lunch too, now.
Everywhere we turn, we saw doors leading outside..
its tempting, considering it's near the blue blue sea...
Looking at it makes mi wana visit Sentosa..
Feng asked if i want to..
But judging from the haze, it's a damn bad idea..
Although I would luv to,
I dun wana stay outdoors for long..
By the way, being the ignorant one, I asked Feng what PSI stands for?
He said its "Pollution Standard Index"
Omg, i feel dumb!!
Suddenly had the urge to have a home cooked dinner..
Told Laogong he can choose watever dishes he wants..
He chose egg mayo sandwiches..
Maybe he still dun trust my cooking, even after 3 years :(
I made tea using my precious tea set too!
Though it doesnt realli go well with dinner..
Hope Feng trusts my tea-making skills!
He doesnt like chinese tea, but, shared a pot with mi that day!
( I normally make fruit/flora tea for him)
The meat eater bought this from Gurame to go along with dinner
Our simple dinner!
Bread with cheese n egg mayo
I made clam chowder soup too..
Want laogong to have something warm for dinner..
the chunky egg mayo i prepared
Feng doesnt like the egg to be too minced up
I think I'm a good laopo after all.. :)

After about 2 hours in Vivo City, both Feng and i agreed it'll be a flop..

Dun ask mi why..

Despite the prominent brands that Vivo carries,

Despite the big big area,

Despite the out-doorsy concept,

Despite the fact that its near the sea, gd' old sentosa...

It's still gonna be a flop, like harbour front..

The high publicity from the media raises our expectations..

Ironically, its the very weapon that killed it too..

Its overrated, in my opinion..

Though im staying near there,

im definitely not going back there as frequent as I would..

The "city" is just not appealing to mi..

Day 3 after the exams..
I woke up.
Feng arrived with my "breakfast".
It was already 2pm.
Yummy Yakitori rice!
With an extra skewer of pork with asparagus..
This RED box brightened up my day!
It's important to see lotsa "reds" today since we both need lotsa luck..
This is your answer
For our early dinner that day, Feng ordered tempura set.
He told me he was contemplating to buy the katsu-don.
Good thing he didn't!
Katsu-don is full of eggs!
We dun wana go home with a big fat egg! (0)
I am particular about everything that day..
The food we eat, my nail colour..
Even the clothes I'm wearing must be red..
Ang Ang ( red red) den can be Heng Heng! ( lucky)
We arrived at about 6.30pm..
Can see lotsa ah peks literally running into the turf club..
Feng said some of them look as if they will be breathless if they walked too fast..
But that doesn't deter them from running and walking fast up the slope!
Before the 2nd race of the day starts..
Waited for almost 15 mins..
Started!
All the betters were shouting and screaming sooo hard and loud!
Punching their fists in the air..
Half standing and half seating...
It's chaotic
Feng and I were the most composed of the lot
After the race..
2 administrators took down the jockeys' weights..
If the difference of their weight is too much b4 and after the race,
they might be disqualified.
A review of race 2 on the big screen
We rushed to see the dividend board for race 3,
so as to analyse the odds..
Feng looking intently at the dividend board that he's soo familiar with..
He bet on race 3, horse 1
the horse's name is "chin ho"
chin ho= "very good" in hokkien
Feng's horse arriving at the track..
Its one of the hot fave!
The race started with "chin ho" leading!
was damn excited..
I was like, really that heng meh?
Feng was all grins...
But about 3/4 into the race,
it was overtaken by another horse..wtf
After the race, we went to the parade ring to look at the horses of race 4
I took a pic of the number 1 horse of race 4

The horses of race 4 entering the track..
We didnt bet on race 4..
Guess what? the horse whom I took a pic of earlier on,
No.1, emerged first place! knn
Abit du lan, we went walking around..
Next to the parade ring, in the night breeze..
We were discussing bout the previous race..
looking at the ah peks smoking and reading their punter's guide,
had an urge to snatch it away from them for our own references..hehe
We went to the food court..
the eaters were gobbling down their food while looking frantically at the screens..
A food court in the turf club? Bad idea!
They might choke.
We went back to the parade ring to look at the horses of race 5
Horse no. 3 caught my attention..
It looked so stubborn and playful!
The odds at the dividend board is good too!
I betted on it this time.
Horse 3 of race 5 is called "The hatchet man"
It refuses to enter the race bar, going round and round..
It struggled soo much till the jockey fell from his back!
I thought that was a good sign,
till 2 idiots behing me said 'Bai ka liao!"
(crippled already) kns
Feng said he would scold them if I were to bet alot on it..
The hatchet man was leading for awhile till it was overtaken by others
Lost. Nevertheless, i like it still.
This horse got character.
Guess lady luck is just not smiling on me..
haiz...
At the parade ring,
Feng was deciding on horses 2 and 11 for race 6
He said horse 11 looks tamed..I agreed too..
It looked timid and tame and quiet..
Feng betted on horse 2, Everest Sunrise
Looking at the race without blinking..
Everest Sunrise did not make it,
instead, horse 11 emerged 2nd..
it's a "sleeper" la, laogong!
After race 6, we left.. lady luck is turning her back against us that night! It was already approaching 10pm.. And thus, its one night of looking at the horses in the parade ring, analysing the dividends board, betting on the horses and looking at the race..
Feng is the "better" while I'm the "controller" among us..
I'm always limiting his stakes..
Apart from Formula 1, this must be our next fave type of race..
For now, its to analyse the punter's guide, and bring a bigger bag next time to contain more winnings!

Del Shannon - Runaway (1965)
Day 1 after the exams!
Feng and I went to K-box..
"pluck" myself out of bed to ktv, not to school for exams?
Shiok..
Feng sings well! Especially a cantonese song
"Guang hui sui yue"
We underestimate the air-con power of K-box..
thought since its ultra hot outside, the room would be cooling onli..
Its F~r~e~e~z~i~n~g
I offered to go buy some food to warm us up abit..
"Sao-bao" from Pau dian!
With prawn fritter and char-siew sou too!
Not forgetting a hot cuppa coffee!
When the auntie was taking my order, she said "u wan kopi gao gao wan rite?"
(gao gao=thick thick)
I was like, I look like a heavy coffee drinker meh?
I said "up to u lor"
anyway im only paying for regular wat..
she wan give mi extra thick, "wo wu shuo wei"
Apart from eating, drinking and holding the hot coffee,
rubbing my hands, wearing my jacket,
its lotsa hugs from Feng!
The 1st time I ordered a hot drink from k-box!
Its honey-lemon
luv seeing the lemon floating in the cup
After singing all the nice chinese/cantonese songs,
just in time for dinner!
We had the famous frog leg porridge from the crowded stall at Chinatown!
The last time I ate it was when Feng bought it home for me after buying it with his friend,
months ago..
The porridge warms mi down!
Just look at it!
The gravy is damn power and thick!
I mixed it with my pork porridge till it turned black!
Laogong had chicken porridge (which he snatched from mi!)
He wanted an exchange with me after mouthfuls into it..
The sheng-yu he ordered especially for mi!
I told him this is the 1st time he bought sheng-yu for mi after more than 3 years together!
He said it's coz I always say i dun wan when he wanted to order for mi..
That's because I only wan Sashimi, Laogong!! hehe
After dinner, while walking back home, I hummed a tune to Feng.. An oldie that I heard while having lunch with Saph the previous afternoon after our last paper.. It captured mi..my ears were alternating between the song and Saph's conversation throughout the song!

I just can't let go of that damn oldie! It's ringing in my head!

I hummed to Feng, half expecting he would'nt know it..

To my surprised, he sang the whole song out to mi!!!

Dunno why but i felt ecstatic!

Thus, he sang and sang while i was half jumping while walking and laughing!

He told mi the title of the song is "Runaway"

Once we reached home, I searched for it on Youtube..
We had hell of a time laughing at the video!
He said those girls should "run away", instead of running round the poor singer!
I cannot take it..almost had a heart attack laughing!
Nevermind the hilariously stupid video, this song is nice k!
Reminds mi of Pearl-Jam's "last Kiss", though they are about 30 years apart..
I imagined Feng and I were back in the 1960's, and he picked me up in an old Covette to the disco.. Guess "Runaway" would be our fave song to dance to!

It was on the eve of the risk management exam..Was at cityhall trying so hard to study with Saph..We started too late, and had to pia thru the whole damn revision for the whole afternoon.. It was 7+ when we stepped out of Mac. I was hungry, but has got no appetite.. Feng and I were deciding where to go for dinner when Saph recommended the Thai Express Bistro at Raffles City.. We went there, looked at the menu, at all those strong strong flavoured food, and i decided against it. (It'll definitely be a taker if not because of the exams..)

What i need is comfort food..to ease the anxiety, the stress, the headache, the fatigue, the anguish, the shit of it all.. Imagine carrying a stack of notes everywhere i go..watching my fave shows feeling guilty, and knowing that probably most of the classmates have already started a long long time ago..But im just not the type who would start my revision early..that's it. I'm screwed. (In terms of the exams that is)

I told Feng we should have dinner at the soup spoon instead..and there we went..
Feng, with specs..(looking studious/serious)
doesn't really help in easing my e-stress..
My Comfort Food!
A big bowl of steaming hot clam chowder soup,
and a tuna sandwhich..
with home-made ice tea..
Feng had a chicken wrap.
Looks like a simple, light meal, but its damn filling!
Both of us couldnt finish the food at all!
Nevertheless, I felt much better after the meal..
Drinking hot soup when it's drizzling outside...
Mi, finally smiling..
Even though I've got a war to fight from the very next day, till the following week..
Eating comfort food with ur love one is damn power..
it recharges you emotionally..
Exams are over as I'm writing this very entry! Finally!

Although studying for it is a long, tedious and tiring process, I kinda enjoyed the light-hearted parts of it! That time when Feng came down with the cute lil sweeties pastries, those times Saph and i were joking bout this particular uncle who always appear at the very same seat in Macdonalds with a huge stack of newspapers daily..when I sms non-stop to enter competitions from cleo (an excuse for myself to stop studying actually!), when Saph and I discovered this lil' cafe selling pastries and tim-sum at Raffles hotel.. ( I burnt a hole in my pocket when i bought a chicken pie from them..and poor Saph had to out for my drinks..)..etc..

As for Feng, to cheer mi up, he bought me a tube of mask I've been eyeing for, the latest issue of Cleo, a big packet of strepsils, nail polishes, my fave banana milk, banana chocz sweets, strawberri-chocz..etc etc..

Also, settling my meals for me daily, doing housework for me, testing me, listen to mi grumble, talk nonsense, scream in distressed... Not forgetting those times I whipped out my notes to read straight after dinner, till the server came back with the change...yes, even for those 5 minutes..
My penalty for starting late..

Thanks hun! And anyone who helped me in anyway.. I even stop Padma in the foodcourt, just minutes before the exam to ask her questions..

Now, its finally over..its time for me to enjoy!

I've planned my enjoyment-schedule with Feng for the week after the last paper!

I'm a stress-free, happie girl once again!!!
